Goals	Sociology of Disability, which emerged as a sub-field in sociology since the late 1970s, focuses on the work done to eliminate the obstacles that people face. With an emphasis on theoretical and qualitative sociological research, this course is planned to provide an introduction to the Sociology of Disability, to understand how disability is approached and interpreted from a sociological perspective. How is disability defined? Who is defined as disabled? What are the policies that underpin disability models and terminology? It is aimed that students will understand the disability studies discussions by proceeding through basic questions such as.
