Goals
|
The aim of this course is to lay the groundwork for discussion of the historical development of cities, which first appeared in 8000 BC in the light of major theories in the field of Urbanization and Urban Sociology and cities today. By the end of this course, students will be knowledgeable about basic information related to the history of urbanization to understand the birth of cities since antiquity until today, their development, change and transformation in addition to discussing the concepts of city and urban to gain an understanding of today?s cities, urban society, urban life and the relationship between cities. In addition to social, economic and political changes and transformations, controversies such as ?the end of the world? and ?ecological doomsday?, this course focuses on the problem of the environment in the field of political science. Within the scope of this course, basic concepts such as the environment, environmentalism, the issue of the environment, environmental policies, environmental movements, and environmental ethics will be discussed as they relate to current ecology issues under social sciences. The goal of this course, in light of these concepts, is to create awareness, based on current environment literature and current universal and local examples, that environmental policies can only be taken up in discussion within new environmental ethics. The course will cover information regarding the prevention of environmental pollution (air, water, soil) in the fields of population, production, industrialization, sustainable use of natural resources and ensuring the applicability of renewable energy resources in order to make assumptions related to the future of the world.
