1-By the end of the course, the students will have learned basic information about the birth, development, change and transformation of cities from antiquity until today

2-Distinguishing between the concepts of city and urban in order to understand today`s cities, urban society, urban life and the relationships between cities

3-The ability to draw associations between Urban Theories and the processes of Urbanization

4-Developing the habit of following publications in the field of Urban Sociology and Urban Policies

5-The ability to understand current urbanization practices and problems via information in the field of urban theories and urban policies

6-The ability to collect empirical data on and analyze the urban processes in today`s cities to write a research report in the light of basic theories in the urban sociology literature in order to put forth assumptions for the cities of the future
