    Goals Developing the ability to read and comprehend the prose texts, learning the development stages of prose in our literature.
    Content What comes to mind at the mention of prose in Classical Turkish Literature? The language of Ottoman Turkish works. simple language, medium language, figurative language. Samples of simple, medium and figurative prose. Types of proses in Classical Turkish Literature. (Religious Texts, Islam history through tales, religious- epic texts, story) Autobiographies, didactic texts, satire, travelogues, reports of ambassadors, moral and political books, official correspondences. The historical development of prose in Classical Turkish Literature(13th-15th, 16th, 17th centuries). Sample text reading. Prose transfer studies Sentence variety in prose. Exercises. The historical development of prose in Classical Turkish Literature (18th-19th centuries) The transfer studies of prose sentences to modern Turkish. Simple prose samples (Köroğlu Destanı, Hamza-nâme etc.) Medium Prose samples (Selânikî Mustafa Tarihi, Tuhfeti?l-kibâr fî Esfâri?l-bihâr?ı of Katip Çelebi, Tuhfe-i Murâdîsi of Şirvanlı Mahmud, etc.) Figurative prose samples (Marifet-nâme and Tazarru-nâme of Sinan Paşa, Tevârih-i Âl-i Osman of İbn-i Kemal, Tâcü?t-tevârih of Hoca Sadettin, Dürretü?t-tâc of Veysî, etc.)
