Goals
|
Early Modern times witnessed three great Islamic empires. The three Islamic Empires controlling the areas extended from India to Austria were the Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal Empires. In this course, we will survey the history of these empires by giving special attention to social, political and economic relations between them up to the middle of the 18th century. After this historical survey, we will compare these three empires with regard to their administrative structures, economic relations, cultural and religious discourses.
