    5-Examines emergence of radical terrorism in the Middle East.
    6-Explores Turkey?s struggle against PKK and counter-terrorism strategies in Turkey
    7-Analyzes traditional and modern counter-terrorism strategies.

    Goals This course will introduce students to the study of terrorism. The theories, origins, definitions, forms, strategies/tactics, varying purposes of terrorist organizations, main motivations behind terror attacks occurred in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, traditional counterterrorism measures will be examined. The course will also offer knowledge on terrorist organizations in Turkey.
    Content Ethnic terrorism, radical terrorism, counterterrorism strategies and tactics, the origin of terror, the Cold War Terrorism, Terror in Turkey, the PKK and ASALA, counterterrorism in Turkey, modern period terrorist organizations
