    Goals Explanation of the reasons and mechanisms of physiological events occurring in plants, the structure and physiology of plants, growth and development events, and examination of the effects of the environment on these events.
    Content The structure of plant cells. Introduction to Plant Physiology, Chemical Composition of Plant Cells, Water metabolism. Experiments and analyzes in physiology. Structure and properties of water, diffusion, osmosis and swelling phenomena. Introduction of materials and devices in the laboratory. Taking and transporting water in plants. Solubility concept, types of solutions and preparation of solutions. Nutrition of Plants, Intake and Transport of Mineral Substances. Experimental observation of plant water relationships. Water Loss Events in Plants (Transpiration, Gutation and Exudation). Effects of temperature and various chemical substances on germination. Introduction to Photosynthesis, Electron Transport and Carbon Dioxide Fixation Reactions. Effects of mineral substances on plant growth. Effects of Environmental Factors on Photosynthesis, Photosynthesis in Bacteria, Chemosynthesis. Extraction of photosynthetic pigments and determination of chlorophylls. Respiration (Glycolysis, TCA cycle, Electron Transport System and ATP synthesis). Chromatographic techniques and separation of photosynthetic pigments by chromatography method. Oxidative Pentose Phosphate Pathway, Photoshalation, Fermentation. Determination of photosynthesis rate. Growth, Differentiation and Growth in Plants, Absorption, Senescence, Apical Dominance, Dormancy, Light and Growth Events. Observing respiratory and fermentation events. Plant Hormones (Auxins, Cytokinins, Gibberellins, Abscisic Acid, Ethylene). Observing the effect of plant growth regulators on growth. Regeneration, polarity. Movement in Plants (Tropism and Nasties). Observation of geotropism and phototropism movements in plants. Nitrogen metabolism. Stress physiology in plants.
