    Goals The aim of this course is to draw Lewis structures and geometric shapes of organic molecules, drawing open structure of important functional groups in organic chemistry, nomenclature of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, and alkyl halides, their physical properties, synthesis and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, and alkyl halides, three dimensional structures of organic molecules, chirality and optical activity of organic molecules and its importance in pharmaceutical chemistry.
    Content Definition and importance of organic chemistry, Lewis structures of organic molecules, hybridization and geometric shapes, chemical bonds, basic reaction types, nomenclature of alkanes, alkenes, alkyne, alkyl halides and alcohols, their reactions and preparations. Functional groups and stereochemistry.
