Goals
|
The aim of this course is to provide information about the characteristics, course and stages of chronic diseases in the elderly.
|
Content
|
Definition of chronic diseases, characteristics and most common chronic diseases. Diseases of the cardiovascular system: heart and coronary diseases, hypertension and peripheral vascular diseases. Pulmonary system diseases: COPD, asthma. Neurological system diseases: stroke-stroke, dementia. Endocrine system diseases: diabetes, obesity, thyroid diseases. Diseases of musculoskeletal system: arthritis, osteoporosis. Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: gastritis, ulcer, reflux, constipation. Urinary system diseases: chronic renal failure. Oncological diseases: cancer. Diseases of the audiovisual system: macular degeneration. Diseases of hematologic and dermatological system. Psychiatric disorders: depression.
