    Goals The aim of this course is to provide information about the characteristics, course and stages of chronic diseases in the elderly.
    Content Definition of chronic diseases, characteristics and most common chronic diseases. Diseases of the cardiovascular system: heart and coronary diseases, hypertension and peripheral vascular diseases. Pulmonary system diseases: COPD, asthma. Neurological system diseases: stroke-stroke, dementia. Endocrine system diseases: diabetes, obesity, thyroid diseases. Diseases of musculoskeletal system: arthritis, osteoporosis. Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: gastritis, ulcer, reflux, constipation. Urinary system diseases: chronic renal failure. Oncological diseases: cancer. Diseases of the audiovisual system: macular degeneration. Diseases of hematologic and dermatological system. Psychiatric disorders: depression.
