    1-Defines the soil structure and vegetation in arid and semi-arid areas
    2-Interprets practises for protecting and developing soil and water resources in arid and semi-arid areas.
    3-Interprets the relations of livestock, forestry and agricultural practices in arid and semi-arid regions.
    4-Analyzes steppes and applies steppe forestry.
    5-Rearranges the concept of desertification and precautions that can be taken against desertification.

    Goals Due to the increasing population in our world, it is important for our future to benefit from semi-arid and arid areas and to put these areas into production in order to provide the necessary nutrition for the growing nutritional problem and sustainable life. Approximately one third of our country being under semi-arid climatic conditions and because of this it is needed for forest engineers to recognize semi-arid forestry and semi-arid ecosystems as a natural resource manager, and meeting this need is the main purpose of this course.
