    Goals The main goals of the course are to teach students how to collect insects via collecting equipment and methods, insect pinning, preparing insect preparates, how to protect insects and how to make insect samples ready for identification
    Content How and when insects should be collected? Introduction of insect collecting equipment. Methods for insect collecting Preparation of certain insect collecting equipment and tools. Insect collecting in field with collection equipment. Required eqipment and methods of insect pinning and preserving. Insect cultures in laboratory. Monitoring insect biology in laboratory. Protecting insects in liquid medium and preparation of liquid medium. Insect preparates and larval protection media. Preparing collected insects for identification. Submitting collected insects and diseases samples to identification. Extracting, measuring and photographing genitals of insects under binocular microscope. Insect labelling. Insertion into colections and preservation methods
