    Learning Outcomes
    1-Explain the important security problems and the strategies and the policies developed in terms of these problems in both national and international levels,
    2-Interpret the historical consequences of the security problems and the policies, and the new developments in the framework of periodic and concrete events and processes,
    3-Analyze the relations between Security Policies and strategic issues,
    4- Identify the risks and threats to national security.
    5-Discuss the issues of strategic analyses, intelligence/ strategic intelligence in terms of National Security for the purposes of creating awareness, perception and interpretation.

    Goals The purpose of this course is to view and to examine the development of the Strategic Thought analytically in a historical manner, by taking traditional and new approaches to the concept of ?Security? into consideration. In this context, the threat perceptions and the security culture will be studied in relation with Turkey?s geostrategical, geopolitical and cultural features. The historical context of security in Turkey, security geopolitics, regional developments will be elaborated within the concept of the discipline of security studies. Besides, the security policies of the powerful countries will be addressed and reviewed; Turkey?s national security and its impact on the region will be analyzed by considering the results of the strategic, martial and economic developments in the world.
