    Goals Learn the history of Arabic literature. Have a general knowledge about pre-Islamic Arab literature. Have the ability to understand the changes in Arabic literature along with Islam. Understand the importance of poetry in Arabic literature.
    Content Islamic Arabic literature; examples of poetry and prose, examples of Old Arabic Poetry, general characteristics of Arabic literature in the Umayyad period, the characteristics of Arabic literature in the Abbasid period.
