    1-Defines the basic concepts of nursing and the historical development of the nursing profession.
    2-Discusses the basic information about the historical development of other health professions.
    3-Discusses the roles and functions of nurse theorists.
    4-Applies methods related to nursing care.
    5-It gives importance to the rights and values of individuals while applying nursing care.

    Goals It is expected that students will learn the philosophy, basic principles and practices of nursing, and gain knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to the place and importance of the nurse in the healthcare team and the principles of nursing.
    Content Basic Concepts in Health, Occupational and Business Concepts, Nursing Profession and Historical Development of Nursing Profession, Historical Development of Health Professions, Professional Theories and Theorists, Nursing Roles, Nursing Law, Patient Rights and Ethics, Critical and Critical Thinking, Tools and Equipment Used in Nursing, Communication in Health Services, Patient and Employee Safety, Patient Admission and Discharge, Sleep, Concept of Death, Infection Control and Vital Findings.
