To recognize the materials used in buildings where people live, to understand whether these materials contain compounds that threaten human health and/or to question whether they are artificialized with additives, to evaluate the criteria for selection of healthy contruction materials.

Content
|
Mineralogy, chemical contents and health properties of natural materials. Classification and types of harmful materials to health. Effects of insulating materials (fiber material, rock wool, glass wool, asbestos, talc) on human health. Health effects of some materials (barite, hematite, silica) used in cement and ceramics. The relationship between harmful materials to health, and diseases (cancer, allergies, asthma, muscle aches, etc.). Examples from Turkey.
