Goals

It is expected that students will learn the philosophy, basic principles and practices of nursing, and gain knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to the place and importance of the nurse in the healthcare team and the principles of nursing.

Nursing profession, basic concepts in nursing, duties, authorities and responsibilities of the nurse, human and basic human needs, vital signs, infection control, individual`s need for movement, nutritional needs and practices, individual hygiene and practices, drug practices, respiratory system and practices, heart- lung sounds, fluid-electrolyte balance, invasive interventions, digestive system and applications, bowel sounds, hot-cold applications, patient safety, wound care, sleep, nursing ethics, pre- and post-operative care, nursing process.
