    1 Introduction to midwifery, oath of midwifery, definition and characteristics of midwifery profession, presentation of laboratory.
    2 Turkey and historical development of the midwifery profession in the world.
    3 Basic concepts in midwifery (human, health environment, women), basic human needs and daily life activities.
    4 Today, the midwife working conditions, professional roles, duties, powers and responsibilities.
    5 The importance of communication and organization in midwifery.
    6 Turkey is the development of health services and health services in the development of the role of midwife.
    7 Vision and mission of midwifery profession.
    8 International midwifery philosophy and ethical codes.
    9 Important concepts in midwifery process (creating change, awareness, dependence, independence, privacy, anxiety, fear, stress).
    10 Important concepts in midwifery process (body image, homeostasis, adaptation, power weakness, loss, hope, hopelessness, concepts of death and mourning).
    11 Patient and health worker safety, patient acceptance and patient unit.
    12 Infection control and asepsis applications, personal hygiene and applications.

    Goals Students are expected to learn the definition, characteristics, historical development, values and responsibilities of the midwifery profession together with the basic concepts and principles of midwifery, and gain knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to the basic concepts and principles of midwifery.
    Content The definition of midwifery and sociological characteristics, the world and in Turkey in its historical development, the midwife`s duties, powers and responsibilities, basic concepts and principles in nursing, basic human needs and activities of daily living, the importance of communication and organization, international midwifery philosophy and code of ethics, vision of the midwifery profession and its mission, working conditions of midwife, important concepts and applications related to midwifery process.

    8 It provides safe conditions in pregnancy, labor and delivery processes, gives birth under its own responsibility, manages emergency and risky situations and takes appropriate approaches. -
    9 Has the knowledge and skills to provide individualized care in accordance with national laws, regulations and procedures in case of termination or loss of pregnancy. -
    10 It provides qualified care for normal and risky postnatal women, newborns and family adaptation. -
