Goals
|
The aim of the course is to inform students about the basic topics of game theory and the main techniques of strategic analysis. This tool, the importance of which was understood as its usage areas became widespread in academic research, started to be applied widely in the USA since the 1990s. Especially in the field of economy, a wide range of applications emerged, from tender arrangements to competition analysis. The ever-evolving and rambling theory of games became an indispensable mathematical tool for economics as well as for sciences such as law, politics, business, international relations, and even biology. It led and gave direction to theoretical developments in economics, especially in the field of industrial organization. Game theory has also become the standard language in the study of strategic encounters. At the end of the course, students are expected to learn to use game theory in the decision-making process.
