Goals
|
The objectives of this course are:
1. To convey the basic concepts of Foreign Policy Analysis and the fundamental approaches in the related literature to students;
2. To provide students with the ability to evaluate various foreign policy analysis approaches using a critical perspective;
3. To make sure that the students are able to analyse international relations and foreign policy activities of states from various perspectives, using foreign policy analysis tools and going beyond the realist strategic analyses which are based on the concept of power.

|
The course comprises the foreign policy analysis, classical approaches and basic concepts, development of foreign policy analysis, alternative models and Ccncepts, new approaches, rational actor model, bureaucratic politics, institutional politics, international factors, national factors, sociological factors and personal factors.
