    Learning Outcomes
    1-Compares the similarities and differences between local government experiences in Turkey and in the world.
    2-Analyzes the division of duties and powers of local governments at different scales and how the relationship between state and local government is established.
    3-Establishes a cause-effect relationship between local government theories and local democracy.
    4-Draws conclusions by collecting empirical data about today`s local government practices and makes inferences in accordance with academic writing and presentation rules

    Goals The aim of the course is to learn the basic concepts of local governments, local government forms in different systems, local government-central government relations, different local government forms and the sharing of duties and powers between them.
    Content The concept of local government, local governments in the world, duties, authorities and obligations of local governments and local governments in Turkey will be examined.
