Goals
|
This course is designed to present the basic dynamics, the effects and the consequences of social movements or mass movements that emerge as an instance of collective behavior, through social sciences in an interdisciplinary way. The purpose of this course is to study the driving forces and dynamics of new social movements, and the interaction between the individual, the society and the state in an international level, by discussing the political, philosophical, sociological, economic and cultural foundations of social movements. In this context, historical and contemporary examples will be examined as well as theoretical approaches explaining social movements.
