    Goals The goal of this course is to provide students with knowledge of collection development and management.
    Content Concept of collection; collection development and collection management; components of collection management process (analysis of users, selection policy, selection, acquisition, weeding, evaluation); collection development policies; review of collection development policies of different libraries; collection development and selection criteria for printed and electronic sources; the impact of consortia on collection development policies; licensing agreements; Access vs. ownership approach; making use of free Internet resources in collection development.
