Goals
|
The purpose of this course is to analyze the relationships between the patient and physician/healthcare personnel through describing and investigating the concept of health communication, thus, establishing an optimal relationship among the aforementioned agents and furthermore; to relay the theoretical knowledge needed to correctly and effectively conduct health communication campaigns which have the role to help the individuals who comprise society to adopt "healthy behaviours" in terms of health protection and health promotion.

The dimensions of health, the medical and social health models, health communication as a concept and theories and models regarding health communication, strategic communication, health information and media, the principles of the relationship between the patient and the physician/healthcare personnel and ways of conducting a healthy relationship among them, determining the target group of health communication campaigns and theoretical information with regards to the design and execution of health communication campaigns.
