Goals
|
To give students the basic knowledge of economics at the introductory level and to gain the competencies to analyze and interpret various economic issues.

Content
|
Basic economic resources, production possibilities curve, supply and demand functions and formation of market equilibrium, elasticity, consumer and producer surplus, consumer equilibrium in ordinal and cardinal utility approaches, general and partial production function, law of diminishing returns, costs, perfect competition, monopoly, monopoly competition and oligopoly markets and game theory. In this course; National income, nominal and real national income, investment, saving, total demand and total supply, macroeconomic effects of monetary and fiscal policies, foreign trade and budget are discussed in detail.
