    Goals Poplars are important trees for meeting the wood demand in Turkey. Major problem of poplar breeding is insect problem and harmful insect may cause serious damage. The main goals of the course are to teach students the important pests in poplar breeding and their control methods.
    Content Poplar damaging Orthoptera, Homoptera, Coleoptera (Buprestidae, Elateridae, Scarabaeidae, Cerambycidae, Chrysomeliidae, Curculionidae), Lepidoptera (Tortricidae, Cossidae, Lymantriidae, Sesiidae, Lasiocampidae, Notodontidae, Sphingidae, Arctiidae) species. Preventive measures for poplar infections. Direct control approach against poplar pests: mechanical control. Cultural control against poplar pests. Chemical control against poplar pests
