Goals
|
Designed as an introductory course in translation, this course aims to improve students` translation skills by providing them with practical experience in translating various original texts from English to Turkish and from Turkish to English.

Content

Introduction to translation and translation studies and definitions of translation. Translation of selected informative texts as a process and product, word and meaning relations and selected journal articles, collocations, idioms and fixed expressions and literary texts, translation of selected texts in the field of social sciences, translation of selected texts in the field of science and technical texts.
